Cornerstone Family Healthcare and Assemblyman James Skoufis (D-Woodbury) announced the completion of upgrades to Cornerstone’s location in New Windsor, a family practice office that also specializes in women’s health. The work was made possible with a $125,000 state grant that Skoufis secured.

“Cornerstone Family Healthcare does vital work in our community providing care for anyone who needs it regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay,” said Skoufis. “This grant will allow the center to see even more patients efficiently and with the highest quality of services possible.”

Cornerstone Family Healthcare, formerly the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center, is a nonprofit organization that provides high-quality, comprehensive primary and preventive care services. The grant funded a renovation and expansion project that will streamline patient check-in to decrease wait times, make services more efficient by integrating the different practices and make the space more modern and inviting, in addition to adding dedicated office space for providers and support staff.

“The funding secured by Assemblyman Skoufis will help to make our New Windsor practice operate more efficiently, ultimately empowering us to serve more patients in need,” said Cornerstone President and CEO Linda S. Muller, MS. “This funding represents an investment in the health of our community, and on behalf of Cornerstone Family Healthcare, we want to thank Assemblyman Skoufis for his support of the project.”

“This $125,000 renovation grant secured by Assemblyman Skoufis for Cornerstone Family Healthcare is a perfect example of how private-public partnerships work,” explained Lynn Cione, President of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce. “By modernizing this health care site, it allows Cornerstone to provide greater access to the residents of New Windsor and beyond. I applaud both Assemblyman Skoufis and Cornerstone Family Healthcare for their continued work in helping our communities stay healthy.”

The expansion will considerably enhance Cornerstone’s ability to provide important safety-net services to residents in Eastern Orange County, noted Assemblyman Skoufis.
