News 12 recently announced that Michelle Brown has been named full-time Anchor/Reporter for News 12 Westchester and Hudson Valley. Ms. Brown was previously a freelance reporter for News 12 Westchester and sister station News 12 Connecticut. While freelancing for News 12 Westchester, she was part of the team chosen as a finalist for a 2011 New York Associated Press Award.

Regarding her new position, Ms. Brown said, “I’m delighted to be in Westchester on a full-time basis, reporting and delivering news that impacts the people in my community. I look forward to working with the award-winning News 12 Westchester and Hudson Valley teams to bring our viewers the very best hyper-local news coverage every day.”

Prior to freelancing with News 12, Ms. Brown spent several years covering news in Rhode Island and Boston, Massachusetts.  Some notable stories she covered include the execution of serial killer Michael Ross, the funeral of U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.) and an unforgettable flight with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds.
