The Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation recently announced a $2,500.00 grant to the Gateway to Entrepreneurial Tomorrows, Inc. (GET) to help fund their “Micro-Loan Program”.

“With a struggling economy, it’s more important than ever to support local business development,” noted Jeffrey D. Wood, Charitable Foundation Executive Director. “GET’s “Micro-Loan Program” is a great example of this mentality in practice and the Foundation is excited to lend its support.”

Established in 2004, GET is a Poughkeepsie-based micro-enterprise development organization focused on fostering entrepreneurship in low-income and minority populations throughout the Hudson Valley. Their “Micro-Loan Program” offers fixed-rate loans to purchase fixed assets or for working capital for start-up businesses. This initial investment from GET is intended to spur further business investment from private sector funds, including local community banks, municipalities and the Small Business Administration (SBA).
